Residential Services

Whenever you decide to build a new house from scratch—whether on your existing building or on your land.
Design Professional Engineering Inc. design team can visit your site to take accurate measurements. Based on the allowable land coverage, we will prepare several high-quality layout scenarios for you to choose from. After you select a design, DPEI will prepare a complete set of documents, including architectural drawings, structural drawings, HVAC drawings, and drainage drawings. If required, we will also obtain the demolition permit for your existing house and finalize all documents as a complete package to help you build the custom home of your dreams.
If you need an open-concept design in your building, the Design Professional Engineering team is ready to conduct a structural assessment with a site visit and prepare all necessary structural drawings to help you obtain your permit as quickly as possible.
Our Professional Engineers can visit your site to take accurate measurements of your existing house and prepare a complete package for your addition, including existing floor plans, existing elevations and sections, proposed structural and architectural drawings, HVAC plans with heat gain and heat loss calculations, and drainage drawings.
If you want to increase the height of your basement, you need underpinning.

Underpinning is the process of strengthening the foundation of an existing building or structure.
In this method, a staged sequence of holes, typically 1–3′ wide and separated by at least 6′ of undisturbed soil, is dug beneath the footing of your home and filled with concrete.
Once the first stage of underpinning segments is complete, the adjacent 3′-wide segments are excavated, and the underpinning process is repeated.
Design Professional Engineering Inc. prepares all the necessary documents for your dream interior alterations, including existing drawings and proposed drawings with all structural details. We help our clients make informed decisions for their home, ensuring a functional design while considering your budget.
Whether it is at the request of contractors, the owner, or a city inspector to sign off and close a permit, or if you need to identify the root cause of an underlying problem, investigate the feasibility of structural or mechanical changes, or have received contradictory advice from different contractors, our team of professionals can properly diagnose the true cause before proceeding. For residential or commercial construction projects, whether during the job or at completion, if an engineering report is required, our company is fully licensed by the PEO to provide engineering services to the public. Our engineers hold a Certificate of Authorization to prepare the necessary engineering reports for the specific issues of your projects.
